Eligibility Criteria for Bank PO and Clerk Cadre |
The candidates who are attempting the common written exam (IBPS CWE) need to have the specified age and necessary educational qualification. The following are the eligibility details…
- Nationality / Citizenship : A Citizen of India
- Degree in any discipline from a recognized University or any equivalent
qualification recognized as such by the Central Government.
- The minimum age limit is 20 years for both Bank PO & Banking Clerk Cadre Exam
- Maximum age limit for Bank PO is 30 years and the same is 28 years for
Clerk Cadre exam.
Upper age limit is relaxable for candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes/ Scheduled
Tribes etc. as per the norms stipulated by the Government of India.

Common Written Examination consists of two parts, one is objective type and
second one is Descriptive paper total no. of questions is 250 and total marks
250, duration of 150 minutes for objective type questions and 60 minutes for
Descriptive paper. There will be Negative Marking of 0.25 mark for each wrong
answer in objective type Exam.

| Examination Pattern for IBPS - Bank Clerk Cadre Exam |
Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) conducts Common Written
Examination (CWE) in a year for Clerical Cadre posts. The Common Written
Examination is of objective type, total no. of questions is 200 and total marks
is 200 and total time duration of 2 hours. There will be Negative Marking of
0.25 marks for each wrong answer in the objective type exam.

IBPS Clerical Cadre Selection Procedure :
IBPS conducts Common Written Examination (CWE) for selection of Clerical Cadre
vacancies in the 20 Public Sector Banks. It is a great opportunity for
candidate’s career in 20 Public Sector Banks through a Single Common Written
Examination. The Common Written Examination (CWE) for Clerical Cadre posts will
be conducted once in a year by Institute of Banking Personnel Selection. Common
Written Examination for recruitment of Clerks has been accepted by each of the
20 participating Public Sector Banks and the Managing Committee of the Indian
Banks’ Association (IBA) with the consent of the Government of India.
- Qualified candidates have to apply through online application mode from the IBPS
website.

Clerical Cadre posts. Total no of questions is 200, total marks 200 and total
time duration of 2 hours for objective types questions. There will be Negative

The candidates who qualified in the online test, they are considered for the
vacancies of the participating banks, the cut-off will be decided based on the
average 1/4 Standard Deviation for general candidates and 3/4 Standard Deviation
for reserved category candidates.

Candidates who qualify in CWE Clerk-II, will subsequently be called for a Common
Interview to be co-ordinated by IBPS. Candidates, successful in qualifying in
both the CWE and Common Interview will be listed in the order of merit.
Depending on the vacancies in each bank of his preference, candidate will
receive through a computerised system an offer from any one of the Participating
Public Sector Bank.
